Please note, Kibana crosses usually have lots of purple to red markings on the foliage. Exported out of Japan as Neofinetia falcata, but often referred to the Japanese as a Neofinetia 'Hybrid', 'Kibana Fuuran' is a beautiful yellow flowered Neofinetia cross. 'Kibana' means 'Yellow Flower' in Japanese.

Flowering Neofinetias bloom once a year, typically from spring through fall. The inflorescence may have 3-9 flowers. Most forms have white flowers with a long nectary spur. They will last 2-4 weeks and are extremely fragrant, especially at night.

Neofinetia falcata hybrid 'Kibana Fuuran' 黄花風蘭. SKU: 26706. A classic yellow-colored Neofinetia hybrid. Exact parentage is unknown, but this variety has been circling around East Asia for 30+ years. The flowers are yellow with a white column in the center. The fragrance is different than standard falcata with an even sweeter aroma.

The Neofinetia community uses Kibana to designate a yellow flowered hybrid. It is not a clonal name as I had assumed. It is unknown when or what is in the background.

A form as nice as this one, especially at this size, is valuable indeed. Kibana Furan, though not a true fuukiran, a plant like this is very valuable.
